The Government of the Northwest Territories has started a search for four new teachers at Mangilaluk School in Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. The job listings were posted between March 24 and March 26, 2026, to fill several roles across different grade levels.
The school is looking for instructors for Kindergarten, Grade 5, and Grade 7, as well as a high school teacher for math and science. These new hires will join a staff that currently includes 23 teachers and 11 support workers to serve about 240 students from the local community.
Hiring for the school is managed by the Beaufort Delta Divisional Education Council. The annual salary for these positions ranges from $95,232 to $153,748, and teachers also receive a Northern Allowance to help with the costs of living in a remote Arctic community.
Principal Ephraim Warren is leading the school through a large renovation project that began in 2021. According to the Department of Education, Culture and Employment, the expansion will add a new gymnasium and extra classroom space to help the school provide better programming for its students.
The school gym reopened in April 2025, but other upgrades to classrooms and offices are expected to be completed later this year. These new teaching positions are part of a push to ensure that local children have access to consistent instruction while the school facilities grow.
