The Many Hands Resource Centre in Morden, Manitoba, is now accepting registrations for its community garden program for the 2026 growing season. Residents looking to secure a space for the upcoming year can sign up during a registration night held on April 23, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the centre, located at 500 Stephen Street.
The garden plots are situated one mile north of Morden off First Street, near the local ball diamonds. Gardeners have the option to rent one or two plots to cultivate throughout the season. To support participants, the City of Morden is partnering with the organization to provide tilled soil, compost bins, and water tanks at the site. Participants are responsible for bringing their own gardening tools and watering cans.
This community garden initiative is one of several programs offered by the local charitable organization, which was founded in 2013 to address food security and social connection. According to Executive Director Mariyam Tsygankova, the centre has seen a significant increase in demand for its services, currently supporting approximately 400 families, or 1,000 individuals, through its various initiatives.
In addition to the gardens, the centre operates a food bank, soup kitchen, community kitchen, and other support programs for the community. Residents interested in the garden program who cannot attend the registration night can also find more information through the organization’s website.
