Residents heading to View Royal Town Hall will need to wrap up their business a bit earlier starting July 3, as the Town shifts to summer hours. From Friday, July 3 through Saturday, September 5, 2026, Town Hall at 45 View Royal Avenue will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, closing 30 minutes earlier than usual. Regular hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm resume Tuesday, September 8.
The change also moves the opening time up by half an hour, to 8:00am, giving early birds a head start. The summer hours notice applies to all in-person services, including tax payments, permit pick-ups, building inspections, bylaw complaints, and dog licences. Staff will still be available by phone at 250-479-6800 during operating hours.
Timing is especially sharp this year. Property taxes are due by 11:59pm on Thursday, July 2, just one day before summer hours start. Anyone waiting until the last minute to pay in person should be at Town Hall well before the 4:30pm close on July 2, because a 10 percent penalty kicks in at midnight. After that, payment options include online banking, the Town’s website, or the drop box at Town Hall.
The summer schedule is a routine seasonal adjustment and does not affect statutory holidays, when Town Hall is closed. This year the summer hours run through September 5; regular hours resume after the Labour Day weekend on Tuesday, September 8.
