The Town of View Royal, British Columbia, has entered the final phase of public engagement for its new long-term growth plan, and residents have until April 15, 2026, to share their feedback on the document.
The project, known as View Royal 2050, acts as an Official Community Plan that will guide local decisions on housing, transportation, land use, and environmental protection for the next 20 years. This marks the first comprehensive update to the town’s planning document since 2011.
Residents are encouraged to review the draft plan by visiting the official Engage View Royal platform. The town is specifically seeking input on the overall vision as well as targeted feedback on specific chapters, including the future of the Western Gateway Community Corridor along the Island Highway.
This initiative is part of a multi-year effort that began in January 2025. Following this final round of public input, the plan will move forward for formal consideration by the View Royal Town Council, with final adoption expected in 2027 or 2028. The Town of View Royal Development Services department is managing the process to ensure the updated policy reflects the needs of the growing community.
