The Waterloo Regional Police Service is asking for the public’s help to find a 34-year-old Kitchener, Ontario, man wanted in connection with an immigration fraud investigation. On March 10, 2026, police identified Harsharan Ahluwalia as a suspect in a scheme where a person allegedly posed as an immigration lawyer to collect payments for work visa applications.
Investigators say that between May 2024 and July 2025, a victim paid for services that were never provided because the suspect failed to submit any official applications. Mr. Ahluwalia is currently wanted on an outstanding warrant for three counts of fraud under $5,000 and three counts of passing off, a charge involving the misrepresentation of services to deceive others.
Local police believe this case may be part of a larger pattern and suspect the man was involved in two similar incidents in Kitchener in March 2025 and January 2026. Authorities are concerned there may be more victims in the community who have not yet reported their experiences to the police.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. The investigation into these incidents is still active and ongoing.
