The Region of Waterloo is advising people flying out of the Region of Waterloo International Airport in Breslau, Ontario, to arrive early for the 2026 March Break travel season. Officials expect heavy traffic and high passenger numbers to cause delays at the terminal throughout the upcoming week.
Drivers should expect congestion on Fountain Street near the main entrance to the airport. To avoid missing flights, the Region of Waterloo recommends that travelers check their flight status before leaving home and give themselves plenty of extra time to get through the building.
Getting to the airport may be more difficult for some residents this year because the shuttle company Airways Transit Service Limited stopped all operations in February 2026. Because this local shuttle service is no longer running, more people are expected to drive their own cars or look for other ways to get to their flights.
To help manage the busy period, the Region of Waterloo suggests that travelers arrange their parking in advance where possible. Using ride-sharing services or asking a friend for a drop-off can also help reduce the number of vehicles at the airport and make the trip easier for everyone.
