The Sun Life Waterloo Busker Carnival has released its official 2026 digital program, letting residents plan their visit to Uptown Waterloo before the festival begins on August 27.
The free PDF, designed by the Waterloo Region Record, is available for download from the Sun Life Waterloo Busker Carnival website. It lists over 50 scheduled performances, roaming entertainers, workshops, midway rides, and artisan vendors.
Performances happen at Waterloo Public Square, Regina Street, and the City Hall Lot, with other activities spread throughout Uptown Waterloo. The carnival runs August 27 to 30 and is celebrating its 38th year, having started in 1989.
The festival draws approximately 50,000 attendees annually. Admission is free, but performers rely on audience tips. Many buskers have trained at prestigious circus schools or Cirque du Soleil, with performers from Canada, the U.S., Ireland, Australia, Mexico, Estonia, and England.
The carnival is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven event. Sun Life Financial has been the title sponsor since 2011. The event was named a Top 100 Festival by Festivals and Events Ontario.
