The Food Bank of Waterloo Region has been honoured with the 2026 Non-Profit and Charitable Award at the Business Excellence Awards, hosted by the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce. The announcement was made on March 13, 2026, recognizing the organization for its work in helping people who struggle to afford enough food.
The organization facilitates more than 50,000 visits to food assistance programs every month. This support is delivered through a network of distribution partners and programs that provide groceries to families and individuals in need across the region.
This is not the first time the group has been recognized for its efforts. The charity has a history of being honoured by the local business community, including receiving a previous innovation award in 2020 for its service to the community.
