The Waterloo Warriors women’s hockey team finished their season this week after hosting the national university championships in Elmira, Ontario. The event took place from March 19 to March 22, 2026, at the Woolwich Memorial Centre.
The University of Waterloo acted as the host for the 2026 U Sports Women’s Hockey Championship for the second consecutive year. During the tournament, the team secured a 2-0 win on Saturday afternoon featuring players Nikki McDonald, Tatum James, and Kara Mark, as reported by 519 Sports Online.
The Warriors advanced to the consolation final on Sunday morning but ended the tournament with a 7-2 loss against the University of British Columbia. This national event brought fans from across the region to Elmira to watch the top university programs in the country compete for the title.
While the hockey program celebrated hosting the national finals, the university’s women’s basketball season concluded earlier this year. The basketball team finished their 2025-26 season on February 18, 2026, after a loss in the provincial quarterfinals.
