Car lovers from across Alberta will gather at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin for its annual Ultimate Car Show on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is expected to draw hundreds of vehicles and thousands of visitors.
The one-day show, sponsored by Hagerty, a leading classic and collector car insurance provider, welcomes all makes, models, and conditions of vehicles. Unlike many car events, there is no judging or competition – just a chance for owners to gather and talk about their rides.
Cynthia Blackmore, head of marketing and communications at the museum, describes it as “a fun show, where everyone feels comfortable bringing their own prized vehicle, whether in perfect condition or not.” Melissa Daoust, head of visitor services, says late registration remains available at the gate. The display field gates are open from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and vehicles will not be allowed in after 9:30 a.m.
Started in 1999, the show has grown from fewer than 200 vehicles to more than 600. The 2024 edition set a record with over 700 vehicles and 4,800 visitors. Admission includes access to the car show as well as the museum’s main galleries and the Aviation Display Hangar. At the 2025 event, ticket prices were $15 for adults, $11 for seniors 65 and older, $9 for youth ages 7 to 17, and free for children under 7. A family pass for two adults and youth up to eight cost $40. Visitors should confirm 2026 pricing on the museum’s website.
Vendor spots and the pancake breakfast are already sold out for 2026, but volunteer positions are still available for those wanting to help out. The museum is also collecting donations for the Wetaskiwin Food Bank at the event.
The Reynolds-Alberta Museum, operated by Alberta Culture and Alberta Infrastructure, houses more than 500 vehicles, 130 aircraft, and thousands of pieces of agricultural and industrial equipment. Its namesake, Wetaskiwin businessman Stanley George Reynolds, donated the founding collection – the largest of its kind in Canadian history.
