The Leduc, Nisku & Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting a luncheon in Leduc on April 29, 2026, to help local business owners learn how to use artificial intelligence to improve their daily operations.
The event, titled Making AI Work For Your Business, will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Best Western Premier Denham Inn & Suites. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore ways that new technology can increase efficiency, reduce workloads, and address specific business needs.
The Chamber has organized a panel of three experts to discuss practical implementation and safety. The panel includes Kyle Brown, CEO of Oil Country Computers, who will cover IT security; Kyla Smith, CEO of Sunnybrook Welding & Machine Shop Ltd., who will share her experience using AI for marketing and administrative tasks; and Peter Vigilante, president of Vigilante Marketing, who will discuss digital marketing applications.
This session comes as many Canadian small and medium-sized businesses look to close the gap on technology adoption. Data from late 2025 indicates that while 23 to 28 percent of Canadian small businesses have moved beyond the pilot stage with AI tools, 62 percent of those firms are operating without a written governance framework. This lack of clear planning has been linked to potential operational risks, with 41 percent of businesses reporting at least one AI-related incident in the year following their initial use of the technology.
Tickets for the luncheon are $45 plus GST for Chamber members and $55 plus GST for non-members. Registration is available online.
