Five municipal campgrounds in the County of Wetaskiwin will open for the 2026 season on May 15, 2026. Residents can visit the Lets’ Camp website to book sites at Battle Lake, Buck Lake, Mound Red, Red Deer Lake, and Twin Lakes.
Nightly camping rates vary by location. Battle Lake and Buck Lake are priced at $29 per night, while Mound Red and Twin Lakes are $27 per night. Red Deer Lake campsites are available for $24 per night. Firewood is also available for purchase at the campgrounds for $10.
The County has recently invested in recreation infrastructure, including upgrades to walking trails, boat launches, and parking, to help support local tourism. As the largest of the municipal sites, Battle Lake features 46 camping spots along with amenities such as a boat launch, fishing access, pay showers, restrooms, and a sanitation dump.
Coal Lake South remains closed until further notice and has not been open to the public since 2010. For those planning a trip, please note that fire permits are required in the County from March 1 to October 31, and spring road bans are currently in effect as of March 30, 2026.
