Students at Wetaskiwin Composite High School are getting ready for an upcoming trip to Europe in 2027, and the school is hosting a series of cake decorating events to help cover the costs. The school announced the Cake Night Fundraiser on April 20, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to make the international educational opportunity more accessible for students.
Community members who want to participate and support the students can attend one of three sessions. The events are set for Sunday, May 3, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, at 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday, May 13, at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets for the decorating sessions are available for purchase through the Student Quick Pay online system. School officials noted that tickets are in limited supply and encouraged those interested to purchase them early.
Wetaskiwin Composite High School is part of the Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools division and serves approximately 848 students from Wetaskiwin, Millet, the County of Wetaskiwin, and the Maskwacis communities. The school has been working toward this international trip since at least September 2025, when it held an initial parent information meeting to discuss the travel plans.
