Wetaskiwin Minor Hockey is seeking volunteers to fill 15 leadership positions ahead of its annual general meeting. The organization is looking for community members to step into key roles to ensure youth hockey programs continue to run in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
The meeting will take place at the Wetaskiwin Moose Hall on May 31, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Open positions for the upcoming board include the Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Discipline & Risk Management, Registrar, Equipment Coordinator, Tournament Coordinator, Ice Coordinator, and Fundraising Coordinator. Additionally, the association is seeking division coordinators for all age groups from U7 through U18, including specific roles for female divisions.
Nominations for these leadership spots can be submitted by email to Secretary Alicia Watson or President Dan Dickau no later than May 29, 2026. According to the association, nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the meeting for those who decide to volunteer at the last minute.
The new board will take over operations for the association, which coordinates programming out of Co-op Place. These leadership roles are essential for the maintenance of youth hockey in the community, as the board manages everything from ice scheduling to tournament organization for the local age-group divisions.
