Residents in Port Alberni, British Columbia, can now look at what the local council will be talking about this month as details for three upcoming meetings are available online. The City of Port Alberni will hold regular meetings on March 9 and March 23, 2026, along with a special committee meeting on March 16.
During the first meeting on March 9, officials will look at a request for a temporary permit. This follow-up comes after recent community discussions regarding where people living in RVs and those using shelter services can stay in the city.
On March 16, the council will hold a committee meeting to talk about the city financial plan. This includes a proposal for a small tax increase of 0.33 per cent to pay for a “Clean Team” that would help look after local neighbourhoods.
The city also noted that boat launching at the Clutesi Haven Marina became free on March 1, 2026. This change is meant to help residents while a new roundabout is being built nearby.
People can go to the meetings in person at City Hall or watch them through a livestream on the city website. According to the meeting overview page, residents can also register to take part through a video call or join by phone to share their thoughts.
