The Durham Regional Police Service has charged a 22-year-old man from Toronto with sexual assault following an investigation in Ajax, Ontario. The incident happened on July 5, 2025, near the intersection of Harwood Avenue South and Bayly Street East.
Police say a woman reported she was assaulted after meeting a man she had been talking to on the social media app Snapchat. Austin Jeffrey Stremble was arrested and later released from custody with a promise to follow specific legal conditions until his case goes to court.
Investigators are concerned there may be other victims and have identified that the suspect used the Snapchat username AJSWRLD22. Members of the community who may have information or security camera footage from the area on the date of the incident are encouraged to speak with officers.
