Regina Fire & Protective Services found a man dead inside a home in the 1300 block of Wascana Street after responding to a fire at approximately 5:19 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find the house engulfed in flames. Firefighters discovered the man, who was the only person in the home at the time, during a search of the building.
The Regina Police Service is now working with fire officials and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to find out how the fire started and how the man died. Family members have been notified, though the identity of the man has not been released to the public.
Neighbours can expect a continued police and fire presence in the area while investigators process the scene. The Regina City Council recently increased the 2026 property tax by 10.9 per cent to support local services including the fire and police departments.
