The Winston Churchill High School senior Bulldogs basketball team is competing in the league semi-finals tonight in Lethbridge, Alberta. The game marks a major step for the student-athletes as they look to move forward in the league playoffs on March 3, 2026.
The semi-final game for Winston Churchill High School is set to run from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. While the team’s opponent is still being decided based on earlier playoff scores, the game is a key event for local families and fans on the north side of the city.
This match is part of the Southern Alberta High School Basketball League playoffs. Success in this round would help the Bulldogs move toward the league championship and the upcoming regional tournaments later this month, according to School Sport Alberta.
Earlier in the day, the school’s Grade 9 and junior varsity teams are holding practices. The Grade 9 practice concludes at 6:30 p.m., while the junior varsity session runs until 8:00 p.m., overlapping with the start of the senior playoff game.
The playoff run comes during a busy time for the school as staff also manage student registration for the 2026-2027 year. Families are also preparing for upcoming parent-teacher conferences on March 12, 2026.
