The Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in Ontario started looking for new volunteer board members on March 2, 2026. This recruitment drive gives local residents a direct way to help make decisions about the future of healthcare and the hospital’s upcoming building projects.
According to hospital officials, the new board members will join at a busy time as the facility prepares for a major construction project. The process of finding a construction company to build the new hospital is expected to begin later in 2026, following a timeline from Infrastructure Ontario.
The hospital board is currently led by Chair Geoff Davies, who was appointed to the role in September 2025. In addition to planning the new facility, the board oversees current services like the hospital’s first-ever MRI program, which opened on October 15, 2025.
The facility provides medical care for about 73,000 permanent residents and roughly 3.5 million visitors to the South Georgian Bay region every year. Residents interested in these volunteer leadership positions can find more information on the hospital’s news website.
