The Troubadour Festival Summer Concert Series was named one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals and Events for 2026 during the Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) “Sustain” conference in Kitchener. This honour for the event in Barrie, Ontario, follows a successful 2025 season that brought more than 15,000 people to the city’s waterfront to see live music.
The Downtown Barrie BIA announced the award after it was shared by Festivals & Events Ontario in late February 2026. The provincial organization evaluates festivals across Ontario and selects the top 100 to highlight the very best events each year.
The 2026 festival is expanding its scope and will include four full-day festival dates at the downtown waterfront. Music fans can attend the series on June 6, 2026, July 25, 2026, August 15, 2026, and September 12, 2026.
Local leaders say the award will help bring more customers to downtown restaurants and shops during the summer months. The festival previously hosted well-known Canadian artists like Dean Brody and Brett Kissel at Meridian Place during its standout 2025 season.
Organizers will announce the main performers for the new season on March 9, 2026. This announcement is expected to draw even more attention to the city’s growing music scene and its premiere outdoor venue.
