Residents in Orangeville, Ontario, are starting to receive new blue recycling carts as the community moves to a new province-wide collection system. The non-profit organization Circular Materials began delivering the large bins on March 2, 2026, with drop-offs expected to continue throughout the coming weeks.
While the carts are arriving at homes now, Dufferin County and recycling officials are reminding neighbours not to use them for curbside pickup just yet. The new bins are officially authorized for use starting April 1, 2026, and residents should continue using their current recycling containers until that date.
The standard cart being delivered has a 360-litre capacity to hold more recyclable items. For those who find the new bin too large for their needs, there is an option to request a smaller 240-litre version after a 90-day trial period.
