The City of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, has started mailing 2026 utility bills to local households as of March 6, 2026. These annual notices cover the costs for essential municipal services, including water, sewer, and garbage collection.
Residents have the option to receive their bills digitally by contacting the City with their account number. This update allows households to get their notifications through email instead of waiting for a paper copy in the mail.
The current bills include rate changes approved by the City Council to cover the costs of local infrastructure. Costs for water, sewer, and garbage services are set to increase between 4.5 per cent and 16 per cent annually until 2028.
These utility notices are separate from property tax bills, which are not yet due. While utility bills are being delivered now, property tax notices are typically sent out to residents later in the spring.
