Residents in Oshawa, Ontario, can soon sign up for summer activities as the city released its 2026 registration schedule for camps and swimming lessons. According to City of Oshawa Recreation Services, the first round of sign-ups begins in early April to help families plan ahead for the warmer months.
Summer camp registration is the first to open on April 7, 2026. This will be followed by swimming lessons on May 12, 2026, and all other community programs on May 14, 2026, which take place at various local spots including the Delpark Homes Centre.
To handle the high number of people trying to book spots, the city will use an online waiting room on the activeOshawa website. This virtual waiting room opens at 8 a.m. on each registration day, with actual bookings starting at 9 a.m.
Residents should know that the pool at the South Oshawa Community Centre is currently closed for a reconstruction project. This closure will affect the total number of swimming lesson spots available to the community this year.
Families can begin looking at the available summer programs on March 31, 2026, to decide which ones they want. For those who need help with their accounts or have questions, Service Oshawa is the main point of contact for registration support.
