North Island College is hosting its annual career and education festival at the Port Alberni, British Columbia campus on March 26, 2026. The event, known as NIC Fest, allows community members and potential students to tour the campus and meet with teachers to learn about different career paths.
Visitors will have the chance to explore the college facilities and speak directly with faculty members about the various programs offered at the school. This open-house style event is designed to help residents understand the educational opportunities available right in their own community.
The festival is being promoted through the Choose Port Alberni initiative, which works to support local economic growth. This program is managed by Community Futures Alberni-Clayoquot and receives funding from the Island Coastal Economic Trust.
By opening the campus to the public, the college aims to attract new students and future workers to the region. Organizers hope the event will encourage more people to pursue local training and support the city’s long-term development.
