The warning was originally put in place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, ahead of a weather system that brought between 20 and 40 mm of rain to the region. This heavy downpour led to reports of water pooling on roads and some localized flooding throughout the Greater Toronto Area on Wednesday.
Weather officials note that the immediate risk of flooding has decreased now that the heavy rain has stopped. Residents can go back to their regular outdoor activities, but they are encouraged to stay cautious in areas where large puddles or water have collected on the ground.
While the weather has calmed down, officials remind the community that spring weather can change quickly. It is common for ground that is still frozen or very wet from winter to have trouble soaking up large amounts of rain at this time of year.
