The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has donated $405,000 to the Streets Alive Mission in Lethbridge, Alberta, to help finish their new facility. Announced in March 2026, the contribution covers the costs for essential electrical work and the heating and cooling systems required to get the building ready for use.
The mission recently moved into this new building in November 2025, which sits across from the Lethbridge Shelter and Resource Centre and the local soup kitchen. By operating in this new spot, the organization can work more closely with other local groups to help people in the community who are struggling.
Jennifer Lepko, the mission’s Chief Development Officer, noted that the donation was critical for opening the facility. The money was specifically used for the building’s power and air systems, which ensure that vulnerable residents have a warm and safe place to go.
In 2025, the mission assisted 1,200 individuals and provided more than 16,000 different services, ranging from basic daily needs to help with housing and recovery. This large donation helps the organization maintain these services and improve how they support the city’s homeless population.
