Niverville, Manitoba, residents can now sign up for a new Powwow Dance program hosted by Niverville Recreation starting this spring. The classes offer a local opportunity to learn traditional dance styles, songs, and the cultural teachings behind them.
The course is taught by members of the Flett-Roulette family, who share their Cree and Ojibwe heritage with the community. These sessions are open to youth, teens, and adults of all skill and experience levels.
The classes are held on Wednesdays from April 8 to May 27, 2026. The registration fee for the full eight-week program is $160 per person.
People of all backgrounds are welcome to attend, and participants do not need to be of Indigenous heritage to join. Instructors will teach respectful cultural protocols to everyone involved during the dance sessions.
