On March 11, 2026, the Durham Regional Police Service announced a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects in a 2023 murder case. While the crime happened in nearby Oshawa, police are asking for help from community members across the region, including Ajax, Ontario.
The victim, 30-year-old Michael Nigris, was shot and killed in a parking lot near King Street West and Park Road on March 30, 2023. Officers were called to the scene at approximately 8:25 p.m. that evening.
The Durham Regional Crime Stoppers program is offering the reward to encourage anyone with tips to come forward. Investigators are looking for two men who have been linked to the area of Lawrence Avenue West and Keele Street in Toronto.
Police have also been looking for a stolen black Ford F150 Raptor as part of their work on this case. Residents are urged to share any video footage or details they might have that could help solve the investigation.
