The Ajax Mayor’s Gala has reached a major milestone by raising more than $1.7 million for local charities and community groups in Ajax, Ontario, since 2019. Mayor Shaun Collier recently highlighted the achievement, which provides funding for essential services across the town.
The Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation is the designated charity for the event for both 2025 and 2026. This group raises money to support the local hospital, which is operated by Lakeridge Health.
Money raised during these two years will be used to buy several automatic drug dispensing units for the hospital’s surgical and medical areas. These specialized machines help hospital staff handle and give out medicine to patients more safely and efficiently.
The annual fundraiser has become a primary way for the town to support non-profit organizations and improve local health services. This specific project aims to help the hospital manage the increasing medical needs of the growing community.
