Sarnia police seized approximately $10,000 worth of illegal drugs, weapons, and cash after stopping a vehicle late in the evening on March 8, 2026. The Sarnia Police Service conducted the stop near Ross Avenue and East Street at 11:33 p.m.
During the search, officers found 55 grams of fentanyl and 13.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine inside the vehicle. They also discovered a knife, brass knuckles, and $1,379 in cash.
Police arrested the driver, 32-year-old Dekker Hierons of Thedford, and the passenger, 45-year-old Mark Duffy of Sarnia. Hierons faces charges for drug trafficking and driving with a suspended licence, while Duffy is charged with drug trafficking and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
Following a court hearing, both men were remanded into custody. This incident is part of a larger effort by local officers to remove dangerous substances from the community.
