The Carberry senior boys basketball team moved into the semifinals of the provincial championships after a 77-66 win against Gimli on March 19, 2026, in Gimli, Manitoba.
The fourth-seeded Cougars earned the victory during the quarterfinal round of the tournament, which is being hosted by Gimli High School. Carberry finished their regular season with a strong record of 21 wins and 5 losses before entering the provincial playoffs.
The team competes in the AA category, which is an MHSAA division for schools of a specific size. This win allows the players to continue their run in the MHSAA AA Provincial Championships.
Head coach Chris Unrau and coach Ryan Robson are leading the squad through this year’s post-season. The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) oversees these competitions to determine the top high school teams in the province.
