After a stormy end to August, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, is expected to be mainly sunny with a high of 24°C, feeling like 28°C. Wednesday, September 2, brings a high of 26°C, though there is a 40 percent chance of afternoon showers. Thursday, September 3, will see cloudy conditions with sunny breaks and another 26°C high, but a 60 percent risk of thunderstorms in the evening.
The return to sunshine follows a late-August stretch in which Environment Canada tracked thunderstorms spreading from Saskatchewan into Manitoba, with severe weather possible.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac notes that August 2026 ran 2°C above the regional average for the Prairies, with above-average precipitation. Its long-range outlook suggests September will continue that warmer trend, running about 1°C above average.
