The 5th annual Make Tomorrow Brighter auction will take place in Oshawa, Ontario, from March 25 to March 31, 2026, to raise money for local students and families facing financial barriers. The online event is hosted by the Ignite Durham Learning Foundation (IDLF) and aims to support educational equity through competitive bidding on various items.
Residents and business owners can participate in the fundraiser through an online platform called GalaBid. This year marks the fifth time the event has been held to help fund local initiatives that benefit people across the city and the wider Durham Region.
According to the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce, the auction is a way for the community to support local growth while bidding on items from home. The Chamber is promoting the event on its official calendar to connect local businesses with the cause.
The Ignite Durham Learning Foundation uses the funds raised during the week-long event to remove financial barriers for students within the Durham District School Board. The auction is set to run for seven days and will end on March 31, 2026.
