The Town of Ajax in Ontario is offering a day camp for children aged 4-12 on Friday, April 17, 2026. The program will take place at the Ajax Community Centre while local schools are closed for a professional activity day.
All elementary and secondary schools in the Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board will be closed for teacher training. The camp runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the HMS Room to provide a full day of care and activity for students.
Children will participate in arts and crafts, active games, and team-building challenges while meeting new friends. The camp is HIGH FIVE accredited, which confirms that the staff and program meet provincial quality and safety standards for children.
Inclusion support services are also available for children with special needs between the ages of 4-21. These services offer extra staff support to ensure all children can participate in the recreation activities provided by the town.
Parents can register their children online using the Active Ajax system. Registration is also accepted in person at any town community centre customer service desk or by sending a request through the mail.
