The Kiwanis Festival of the Performing Arts is hosting a benefit concert featuring Shane Cook & The Woodchippers on March 27, 2026, in Stratford, Ontario. The performance begins at 7:00 PM at Avondale United Church to raise money for the local youth arts program.
The four-member group, Shane Cook & The Woodchippers, is known for playing acoustic roots music that includes fiddle music, step dancing, and folk songs. The band features fiddle champion Shane Cook and five-time national step dance champion Kyle Waymouth, along with musicians Emily Flack and Joe Phillips.
This fundraiser supports a festival that began in 1927 and is now managed by the Kiwanis Club of Stratford. Organizers say the festival serves more than 5,000 young artists every spring and is preparing for its 100th year of operation in 2027.
General admission tickets for the concert cost $35 for adults and $10 for children aged 12 and under. The money raised will help cover the costs of the upcoming three-week festival competition which runs from April 7 to April 24, 2026.
The festival is a registered charity operated by Executive Director Pat McKinna and more than 100 community volunteers. Residents can find the concert at the church located at 194 Avondale Ave.
