Community members in Sarnia, Ontario, are organizing a protest on Saturday, March 28, 2026, to voice concerns regarding several policies from the provincial government. The gathering will take place at 1:00 PM at 805 Christina St. N., located across from the court building.
Organized through the Sarnia-Lambton Politics and Governance group, the event is designed to give residents a place to discuss how provincial decisions affect their local community. The protest follows the return of the provincial government to work on March 23, 2026, after a long winter break and the release of a new provincial budget.
Participants are expected to highlight several issues, including recent changes to student financial aid that have reduced grants and increased student loans. Other concerns include the funding of local hospitals and new rules that would make it harder for citizens to request access to official government records.
According to data from Liaison Strategies, many residents across the province have expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of housing and the cost of living. Local residents in Sarnia previously held a similar demonstration in August 2025 to speak out about wages and education funding.
