The Brant County OPP charged a 60-year-old resident with property damage following a disturbance at a home in Brant, Ontario. The incident took place at approximately 3:10 a.m. on March 21, 2026.
Officers responded to the home as part of an investigation into intimate partner violence. After arriving, they arrested one person and laid a charge of mischief for destroying or damaging property.
Police remind the public that individuals in common-law or matrimonial relationships do not have the right to damage property that belongs to their partner. The person involved is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on May 7, 2026.

This was one of two similar investigations handled by officers over that weekend. In another case, a 59-year-old from Ottawa was charged with assault and has a court date set for April 30, 2026.
