The Regina Police Service has released its March 2026 report, showing that overall crime in Regina, Saskatchewan, is trending downward. This monthly update gives residents a clear look at safety patterns in their own neighbourhoods while highlighting a significant drop in both property crimes and crimes against people over the last year.
Between 2024 and 2025, crimes against persons like robberies and assaults fell by nearly 14 per cent, while property crimes dropped by almost 16 per cent. Because of these changes, Regina improved its national standing on the Crime Severity Index, moving from the 9th to the 11th spot among major Canadian cities.
Despite the general decline in crime, the city faced some specific challenges as homicides rose from 4 in 2024 to 11 in 2025. Arson also remained a concern for local officials, with nearly 600 cases reported in 2025, which is more than double the amount seen in 2020.
Police Chief Lorilee Davies, who became the first female chief in the province’s history in December 2025, is currently overseeing the hiring of 27 new officers using $1.7 million in provincial funding. Recent results from the 2025 Community Perception Survey show that community trust remains high, with up to 85 per cent of residents expressing confidence in the police service.
