Lee, who spent 10 years playing professional basketball internationally and in Canada, including time with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans in the Basketball Super League and the Hamilton Honey Badgers in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, now focuses on motivational speaking and music. He founded the Light Up the City initiative and More Than Us Basketball alongside his wife, Melissa Lee, who also played professional basketball overseas for a decade.
The upcoming appearance in Rankin Inlet follows a recent presentation by Lee at the Inspire Our Nation Conference in Saskatchewan. The tour will also visit Arviat on April 20, 2026. These events are designed to offer faith-based alternatives and community engagement opportunities through music and inspirational talks, often in collaboration with organizations like e3 Ministry Canada.
Rankin Inlet, also known as Kangiqtiniq, serves as the administrative hub for the Kivalliq region and is home to nearly 3,000 residents according to the Government of Nunavut. The timing of the event coincides with the month of the annual Pakallak Tyme festival, a local celebration that features traditional games, community feasts, and various racing events.
