The Kivalliq Inuit Association is looking for more people to serve as additional directors at its upcoming Annual General Meeting in Rankin Inlet. The meeting runs from October 6 to 8, 2026, and anyone interested must apply by September 18, 2026 at 12:00pm Central Standard Time.
The association says interested Inuit beneficiaries in the Kivalliq Region should send a letter of interest and resume by the deadline. The call for additional directors is part of the group’s regular governance cycle, giving local residents a chance to help shape decisions affecting the seven Kivalliq communities: Arviat, Whale Cove, Rankin Inlet, Chesterfield Inlet, Baker Lake, Coral Harbour, and Naujaat.
The Kivalliq Inuit Association already has a board made up of a president, vice-president, secretary-treasurer, and seven community directors, one from each community. The additional director roles are separate from those elected positions.
Current officers include President Kono Tattuinee, Vice-President Patrick Tagoona, and Secretary-Treasurer Madeline Kaludjak. The organization represents more than 11,000 people across the Kivalliq Region, most of whom are Inuit.
