Residents of Bracebridge who rely on public transportation should prepare for service changes this week, as Bracebridge Transit and Bracebridge Mobility will not operate on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. Both services are scheduled to resume their normal operating hours on Saturday, April 4, at 8:30 a.m.
The upcoming closure is a standard practice for the town’s transportation network on statutory holidays. According to the Town of Bracebridge, both conventional transit and the specialized, door-to-door mobility service follow a holiday schedule that mirrors other statutory holidays throughout the year, such as Canada Day and Christmas Day.
The Hammond Transportation Ltd., which has managed daily operations for the town since September 2023, will oversee the suspension of service. Bracebridge Mobility provides essential transportation for residents who have physical disabilities that prevent them from using conventional transit buses or walking 175 metres. Users who rely on this service for medical appointments or other errands are encouraged to make alternative travel arrangements for the holiday.
Good Friday is recognized as a statutory holiday across Ontario under the Employment Standards Act. Residents are advised to plan their travel accordingly for Friday, as no transit services will be available to the public within the urban centre during the holiday.
