The rain is due to a system moving through Muskoka, arriving on top of an already wet stretch of late-summer weather. Current conditions at Muskoka Airport show light rain, a temperature of 19.4°C, and humidity at 100 percent. The Weather Network reports fog in the area with a 100 percent chance of precipitation and roughly 20 mm of rain expected.
While no rainfall warnings are in effect yet, Environment Canada notes they may be required. The agency also cautions that water pooling on roads and in low-lying areas is likely, so drivers should use extra caution.
