Residents of Niverville, Manitoba, have an upcoming opportunity to learn about estate planning during a free workshop. The event will take place on May 4, 2026, from 7 to 9 PM in the meeting room at the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre.
The workshop is open to all community members at no cost and aims to provide education on the importance of having an up-to-date will and handling family planning matters.
This educational session addresses a notable trend across the country. According to the Angus Reid Institute, about half of all Canadians do not have a last will and testament. The data further suggests that residents in Manitoba and Saskatchewan are among the least likely in the country to have their estate documents up to date, with only 32 per cent of Manitobans reporting that their wills are current.
The Town of Niverville, which serves as a regional hub for more than 10,000 people, continues to see significant growth. As one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the province, the town experienced a 29 per cent population increase between 2016 and 2021. The community centre, which is operated by the Town of Niverville under its Recreation and Wellness department, regularly hosts events designed to support the needs of this growing population.
