Residents in Grimsby, Ontario, can expect a shift in weather this week as a cool air mass moves into the region following heavy rainfall over the weekend.
According to Environment Canada, there are no active weather alerts for the St. Catharines, Grimsby, and Northern Niagara region as of Sunday, April 5, 2026. This follows a weekend period that saw significant precipitation across the area due to a weather system often referred to as a Colorado low, which brought 20 to 40 mm of rain to the region on Saturday.
Current conditions recorded at the nearby Vineland Station show temperatures around 7°C. The forecast for tonight indicates a 40 percent chance of showers early in the evening, with temperatures expected to drop to a low of 1°C.
The early part of the coming week will be notably cooler. A cold snap is expected to move in on Monday and Tuesday, bringing a 30 to 40 percent chance of flurries. Daytime highs for these days will range between 1°C and 6°C, while overnight temperatures are expected to fall below freezing, reaching between -4°C and -5°C.
The colder conditions will be temporary, however, as a warming trend is expected later in the week. By Thursday, April 9, forecasters anticipate a mix of sun and cloud with temperatures climbing to a high of 15°C.
