The Historic SDG Jail in Cornwall will host a Johnny Cash tribute concert on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The performance, titled CASH at FOLSOM PRISON REVISITED, will feature tribute artist Paul Anthony at the facility located at 11 Water Street West.
Known as The Preacher in the Church of Johnny Cash, Paul Anthony is recognized for his authentic portrayal of the legendary musician. He holds the distinction of being the only Johnny Cash tribute artist invited by the singer’s son, John Carter Cash, to record an album at the private Cash Cabin studio in Tennessee. Throughout his career, Anthony has performed at historic Nashville venues and was invited to play at the re-grand opening of the Storytellers Museum in Bon Aqua, Tennessee.
The concert will take place in a venue with a long history in the region. The jail was constructed in 1833 and served as an active prison for 168 years until 2002. Today, the facility is owned and operated by the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. In January 2025, the local site received $53,086 in provincial funding through Ontario’s Rural Economic Development program to support improvements and help transition the historic building into a space for tourism and community activities.
Doors for the concert will open at 7:00 PM, with the performance starting at 8:00 PM. Tickets are available through Ticketscene for $79.10 plus applicable fees. The price includes a guided tour of the jail, and the event is licensed and open to all ages.
