The Town of Bracebridge is expanding its local fitness offerings with the addition of a new Barre Technique class at the Bracebridge Sportsplex. Registration is now open for the program, which will hold its first class on April 20 at 8 a.m.
The new class is designed as a small-group, full-body workout that blends ballet-inspired movements with strength, core, and flexibility exercises. According to the Town of Bracebridge, the program uses small, precise, and low-impact movements that progress each week to help participants build strength, lengthen muscles, and improve their overall technique.
This initiative continues the growth of the fitness facilities at the Sportsplex, located at 110 Clearbrook Trail. The municipal facility previously expanded its capacity in January 2025 with the opening of the Kubota North Wellness Centre, which added specialized spaces for fitness classes along with cardio and weight equipment.
Mayor Rick Maloney has highlighted that these ongoing investments in recreation infrastructure and programming are part of the town’s broader commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the community.
Residents interested in joining the new class or learning more about facility memberships can reach out to the recreation department at 705-645-3037, extension 3750. Current adult membership rates for the facility, which grant access to both the Sportsplex and the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre, are subject to change and should be verified on the Town of Bracebridge website.
