Local tourism businesses, community organizations, and event planners are invited to gather in Long Sault, Ontario, for the second annual Cornwall & SDG Counties Tourism Summit. The event will take place on April 22, 2026, at the South Stormont Community Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The summit is held in partnership with SDG Tourism and aligns with National Tourism Week, which runs across Canada from April 20 to April 24, 2026. This year’s gathering builds on the success of the inaugural event held in 2025, which attracted more than 90 industry stakeholders.
Tickets are available for $25 per person through Ticketscandy. The registration fee covers a continental breakfast, a networking lunch, and access to a series of sessions designed to provide practical tools for the tourism sector.
Featured sessions include leadership development with coach Sheli Warren, and an update on the Tourism Development Fund. Since its establishment in 2019, the fund has used money from a 4% municipal accommodation tax to distribute over $1 million to area tourism initiatives.
Other sessions include a presentation on destination authenticity titled Just Be Yourself, led by Dug Stevenson and Trevor Norris of the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board. Norris was recognized as Ontario’s 2025 Tourism Champion of the Year. Additionally, consultant Cathy Kirkpatrick will present on the impact of artificial intelligence on web traffic.
Shauna Baggs, the art, culture, and tourism supervisor for Cornwall, noted the importance of the summit in helping local leaders adapt to changing travel habits. She stated that the event is intended to provide the necessary insights to keep the region ahead of trends ranging from local staycations to international visits.
Registration for the event is managed by the Cornwall SDG Business Enterprise Centre.
