Residents of Behchokǫ̀ can expect cold and unsettled weather to continue through the middle of April 2026, with temperatures remaining below seasonal norms, according to The Weather Network.
According to Environment Canada, the typical high for this time of year is -1°C with an overnight low of -13°C. Conditions are colder than seasonal averages, with Environment Canada forecasting daytime highs between -2°C and -6°C for the coming week and overnight lows ranging from -15°C to -17°C.
While no formal weather alerts are currently in effect, Health Canada notes that the risk of frostbite increases quickly when wind chill values drop below -27°C. Residents are encouraged to dress in warm layers when heading outdoors, particularly during the early morning and evening hours.
The forecast suggests a shift in conditions by the weekend. AccuWeather anticipates light snow in the morning on Saturday, April 11. Later in the month, a Pacific weather system is expected to bring scattered flurries to the community on Saturday, April 18, with the potential for 1 to 3 centimetres of snow accumulation overnight.
