The Downtown Orangeville Business Improvement Area is inviting residents to celebrate the arrival of spring on May 9, 2026, with its annual Clean Sweep event. This day combines a community-wide beautification effort with a special shopping event, where local business owners offer one-day promotions and discounts.
During the event, shopkeepers representing more than 300 businesses in the area will be sprucing up their storefronts to welcome the season. Residents are encouraged to visit the heritage downtown core to enjoy the spring weather and take advantage of the various deals available at local shops.
The celebration coincides with the opening day of the outdoor Orangeville Farmers’ Market. The market will operate on Second Street outside Town Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring local food producers and artisans.
This event serves as an early start to the community’s seasonal programming, occurring just weeks before the 22nd Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival. The Business Improvement Area, established in 1978 under town by-law to support the downtown commercial district, continues to organize these events to highlight the offerings of Orangeville, the largest urban area in Dufferin County.
