The Town of Orangeville is moving forward with several key infrastructure projects this spring, aimed at improving public safety, community amenities, and local transportation. As construction progresses across the municipality, residents can expect to see work continuing on a new fire station, major park upgrades, and new road extensions throughout 2026.
Work is currently underway at 10 Commerce Road for a new fire station, which began in January 2026. The facility, which has a total project budget of $26.5 million, is being built to replace the aging fire hall on Dawson Road that no longer meets modern safety and accessibility standards. The construction contract for the station was awarded to J.J. McGuire, with the project expected to reach completion by December 2027.
In the north end of town, the Five Creeks Estates subdivision development continues, including the extension of Hansen Boulevard. This road project is intended to serve as a significant transportation corridor for the area. The overall development by Great Gulf is slated to include more than 350 homes, a new elementary school, and new walking trails.
Residents previously had the opportunity to weigh in on the future of local recreation, with the winning playground design for Rotary Park already selected following a 2025 public survey. The site redevelopment is a multi-phase project receiving support from the Rotary Club of Orangeville and the provincial government. The town continues to work with its contractors and partners to finalize plans for the park, which will eventually feature updated courts, a clubhouse, and an artificial skating loop.
Additionally, the town is preparing for stormwater management rehabilitation near Young Court, Sandringham Circle, and Lisa Marie Drive. Following tree clearing earlier this spring, construction in these areas is expected to begin in the summer of 2026 to improve drainage infrastructure. These various initiatives were highlighted in the 2026 municipal budget, which council members have framed as a commitment to finishing ongoing town projects.
